Sensor Modules
While many customers use our probes with their own pressure-scanners and data acquisition systems, we also offer customizable pressure-sensor modules. Our pressure-sensor modules are cost-effective and can also be customized for use with different fluids or environments. Modules can also be calibrated to adjust for the effect that differing temperatures have on the sensors themselves. Such calibrations usually range from -40° C to 100 ° C, and guarantee that the sensor module will not return erroneous data, regardless of the temperature of its environment. Our sensor modules also have external channels which can be customized to use other data sources such as thermocouples, accelerometers, load cells, viscometers and others.

On-the-Fly! Air Data System
The On-The-Fly! Air Data System (OTF! ADS) is a complete solution for acquisition and processing of air flow data at an unprecedented size and scale. This system is specifically designed for use on lightweight UAVs and other small, low power systems.
The OTF! consists of two primary components: an Air Data Probe and an Air Data Computer. The air data probe is a Multi-Hole Probe (MHP) in a 5-hole + static ring configuration. This efficient design allows for calculation of the complete airflow vector without using a bulky air data boom.
The air data computer is an extremely compact microprocessor-based embedded system consisting of hardware and software to calculate flow field data in real time. The system is lightweight, draws little power and is well suited for small UAV and other research applications.

Motor Controllers / Traversing Systems
Aeroprobe supplies customized traversing systems, including traversing scales, stepper motors, cables, motor encoders, and motor controllers. Our motor controllers are significantly more economical than those provided by major traversing scale manufacturers; they are still capable of controlling up to four motors independently, and are fully integrated with our software. We also specialize in designing custom traversing-scale rigs for use with our probes.

Data Acquisition
Aeroprobe systems can be used with several different types of data acquisition. Most of our customers choose to use the USB-based data-acquisition system, but our systems function just as well with a PCI data-acquisition card installed in a desktop computer. We sell and support both, and can also provide the computers for use with these systems. A benefit to Aeroprobe providing the computer is that we are able to install our software and the hardware before hand, and test the entire system, which ensures that no computer settings will interfere with the data acquisition process.
Software
Aeroprobe provides all the software necessary for both data-acquisition and data reduction. Our data-acquisition software can be used in conjunction with our motor controllers and their software, and can be used with PCI, Ethernet or USB-based data-acquisition systems. Our reduction software can be used as a stand-alone package, but we also provide the DLL, so that the customer can call it from another software suite. We also offer a reduction routine for use with Microsoft Excel.
Visualization can be performed with several different engineering software suites; most often we recommend Tecplot, which we can be integrated into any customer’s system package. Aeroprobe will provide the support that will allow the customers to integrate Aeroprobe products into their laboratory environment.

Accessories
Aeroprobe specializes in delivering entire turn-key systems. We can supply everything needed for a probe-based pressure/velocity data-acquisition system. This includes custom mounts for the probe or traversing-scales, special tubing, custom cabling or wireless systems, special traversing scale designs, and any other hardware necessary for a system to be installed and function.

Aeroprobe builds high-speed wind tunnel

To address increasing calibration demands, Aeroprobe has successfully constructed a high-speed wind tunnel housed in additional facilities in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Capable of producing flow speeds up to Mach 1, the tunnel sets a new standard for high quality flow with minimized turbulence. With these investments, the tunnel has run almost 24 hours a day since it came on line three months ago.
